Important Notes
- Meeting point: Xinchun Tea House, which is also the car park — you can drive right up to it; stroller- and senior-friendly
- Free parking for tour guests. About 7 spaces at the tea house; it can fill up on peak-season weekends, with overflow parking at the Cattle Egret Car Park and along the nearby roadside
- Toilets and shaded seating on site — you will be here two or three hours, which matters if you are bringing children or older family
- No power lines across the view; nothing to dodge with a long lens
- Seasonal availability: August 22 – October 11 (subject to minor adjustment based on egret arrival)
- The tour starts at 2:00 PM — please arrive on time. Egrets begin appearing around 2:00 PM and the spectacle peaks between 3:00 PM and dusk, right after the tour ends
- If it rains we will reschedule you once at no charge; the fee is not refunded
- Comfortable walking shoes recommended
- Drone use is strictly prohibited to protect wildlife habitat
- Fig jelly contains natural ingredients; please inform us of any allergies in advance
- Spots are limited — advance online booking required

Watching costs nothing
The choice is whether you want a seat and whether you want someone to explain it. You can see the birds from the car park — which is also ours, and parking there is free, but there is no seating and there are no toilets. Seats, toilets and the clear view with no power lines are all at the tea house, three to five minutes' walk away.

Park at the viewing platform car park — it is ours too, and parking is free. Find your own spot; no guide, and no toilets or seating up there.
Tea seat
NT$ 150 / person
Come into Xinchun Tea House: a bottle of cold-brew high-mountain tea and the tea snack of the day — on the days we make it, that means freshly made handmade mountain-spring fig jelly — parking included. Toilets and shaded seating on site, somewhere to sit through the two or three hours of waiting. Fancy something hot? Add a freshly brewed pot for the table: NT$300, refilled as long as you stay.
