The 2026 Ten Thousand Egrets gathering happens at Taixing, Meishan, Chiayi, from August to October, at its best between 3pm and dusk. Three ways to watch: the viewing platform car park is free and has spaces, but no seating and no toilets; NT$150 per person to enter Xinchun Tea House, with parking, toilets, shaded seating and cold-brew high-mountain tea, staying until the flock disperses; or add a 90-minute guided walk for NT$450.
